Christmas time is here

It has been a while since I published my last adventures. Actually so much has happened ever since. We were invited over for dinners at a lot of people's places. One of them was a greek couple , parents to little Malina whose dad worked with mamma and papa. I got a great winter overall in fleece and wool as a present. One day mamma took me to downtown Stockholm with her friend who had a daughter named Linea. We had fun together walking on the lit up Stockholm streets all in preparation for Christmas and I loved to see the Chritsmas lights everywhere. I was dressed in a panther print overall that had a little tail behind it. Mamma found me to look soo cute..:-) and so did all the passer bys who glanced at me laying in the pram.
A few days back mamma decorated the Christmas tree at home with dada.. Dada was delighted to help out mamma with the same since he had shopped and selected all the decorations that hung on the Christmas tree himself. Last friday we went to dada's school for his Christmas party, I was dressed up as a little cutie Santa, and so was dada. Dada's teachers carried me around and I loved to watch dada perform his Christmas acts in front of all the parents.
Today papa took me to see the real Santa.. Wow.. he looked cool in all his white beards and mustache as I got to sit on his lap.
I can now bend my back in an arch while on my back and also laugh out loud whenever mamma or papa talk or coo to me. Mamma thinks I am really a fast learner as I have started to respond to certain words like 'duddu' godi' 'aao', whenever I hear them.
To develop my nuerons, mamma constantly explains to me what's going on; whether we're at the grocery store, in a cafe, or just doing chores at home. Her singing needs improvement, and I laugh at her lyrics, but I've convinced her I'm listening with my big eyes and gurgly smiles.

Snow all over...

Voila..!! We had our first snow showers last week..and it was so beautiful.. Mamma told me this is just the begining and the temperature is going to drop further in the few days and she was so right..We had more snow..and a lot more..and even more..and it didnt stop for 4 days.. Uff!! towards the end of the 4th day we had such a lot of snow that I could see snow trucks all day long trying to clear the roads.. Dada was super happy, he loves snow and he got to throw snow balls and play and slide in the snow. When the snow fall had ended ,we went to watch one of the bollywood flicks 'dostana' and I was all packed in my baby carry bag with just my face visible to all, and I loved walking on the Stockholm streets feeling mist on my face and some little flakes of snow floating in the air that hit my little nose. As usual people I met in the movie theatre thought I was cute..well, am used to these compliments now..:-).

I slept amidts all the laughs and giggles in the movie theatre and let mamma and papa enjoy their day out.

I love presents.!!

Its great being a baby.. . I get a lot of presents.. for example, last week like I mentioned we had dinner with Akul and his family and I got a stylin 'outfit with a little matching cap to go with it that I can probably fit into in a month's time. After a few days we had dinner at our place with a mixed Lebanese - Swedish baby named Linea just 6 months older to me whose father works with mamma and papa. I got a little winter full sleeve top from the swedish designer store Polarn.o Pyret. Dada loved playing with Linea's older sister Emma and she gifted him with a great set of pant and tees also from P.O.P.
Rajiv uncle came over and gifted me with a little stuffed 'piglet' from the winnie the pooh and friends. Oh how soft it was to feel....
On Saturday morning we had little Anshi and his mom who came for for a while to visit us. She bought a great present for mamma..a scrapbook since she knew mama loves clicking pictures and also loves making me pose for it too..eventually the scrapbook cum album would be full of all my pictures ever since I was born.
Then we had little Chinti and his family who came over for dinenr and they brought for me a little toy that had all lovely tunes to it whenever I would touch it. I can probably play with it a couple of months..
Did I mention.. Meenu aunty presented me with a cute little gold locket..
Presents are fun but I would trade any of them for all the hugs and kisses I get more so everytime I coo and smile..

Food flowing all over

Hi..this week a lot of exciting things have happened. Last sunday we went to the movies..yep.!! my first visit to the offiial movie theatre.. Mamma wanted to see the movie 'Mamma mia' for a long time and papa deceided to take all of us to the mall. Well dada and me both were allowed inside .The movie didnt excite me much and I fed through most of it. yes..I did yell out in boredom just once and that too for a little while and papa quickly patted me back to sleep. I ignored the glares I got from the onlookers and so did papa and mamma..:-) was so funny...After the movie we went to a very good Thai restaurant. There was a big pond full of beautiful and BIG gold fishes .. and dada was feeding them with fish food. I really enjoyed watching the fishes open their mouths and make such a commotion to eat the food being thrown in the water..

On tuesday we went to have Italian food in one of the finest and the best Italian restaurants here in Stockholm city. I was such a good girl that day and allowed papa mamma and their friends to eat in peace right through to the Tiramisu while I slept in my baby bag. Got a few compliments from the servers there, they thought I was so cute..eh.:-) well cant deny that..

Dada was all in for Malai kofta so then papa decieded to take us to an Indian restaurant on Friday. Well, all the smell of the spices got me a bit irritated , there although I tried my best not to show that I was not liking it..
Towards he end of the week on Saturday little Akul who is 3 months older to me came over for dinner at our place with his family. Even though I couldnt play with him ,I just enjoyed watching him do all his little antics he had learned , like being able to lift his neck in an arch when on his tummy..
Uncle and Aunty thought I was really a cutie with the little hairband on my head. Felt like a small chritsmas gift pack myself..alla ready to be opened.. but I didnt have the heart to show the feeling to mamma who was so excited to dress me up and brush my hair back to put on my head the hairband with a pink little bow....lol
Tomorrow I will be all of 2 months..yippie..!! and I am sure u all agree from reading the posts that the journey so far has been exciting...

Papa is back ....

It took a few minutes of my 6 week old memory to place the face that stared joyfully at me..and then I recollected it..it was ''Papa'' . The fun guy' papa' is back after 2 weeks ..Oh..!! We missed him terribly..Dada kept asking mamma every few minutes about when is papa comming...until he finally arrived in the evening..
He bought some wonderful gifts for all of us.. I got new booties, toys, and wonderful over-alls and jumper jackets. Dada got his favourite DVDs, and the 'Tiger' jacket that he so badly wanted.
Mamma had a smile on her face after 2 weeks. She too missed papa a lot.
We all had the wonderful dinner mamma cooked for us and I played with papa till I was sleepy..
I hope tomorrow papa is fresh and all his tiredness has vanished ..then we will play more..

A rather routine week

Well another week has gone by and this one was a routine week. Papa is still away to China and mamma was in charge the whole time. I would have 2 outings everyday to leave and pick dada from school. Dada was really esctatic at the idea that mamma will pick and leave him since everyday it was papa who did it. I and dada loved the ride in the Tunnelbana( the swedish subway) and the bus.It was my first time in the bus and I loved it even though the ride on the train and buss together is hardly of 15 mintes. The lights shown really bright up on the roof of the bus, and the moving train rocked me to sleep in my pram.
On the halloween day dada was a superman..Mamma took the handycam to his school to capture him and his friends in the halloween costumes. I was a bit scared. Someone was a witch and someone looked a pirate.. Ah..!! those were all dada's friends in school. I loved his friends who were dressed up as ballerina, or cinderella, or fire girl. They looked cool..perhaps I will dreses up like one of them next year when I grow up a bit.
Dada said he had loads of fun in school that day and in the evening he came back with loads of gifts given to him by his teachers. His teachers also presented mamma with a pack of swedish cholocates to cheer her up in papa's absence and also congratlate her on my birth..
One evening we went again to meenu's aunty's place because she really loves to have us over. She is really sweet. She thought my feet were soo very soft and touched my feet with her cheecks and it tickled me.. Mamma and she had a fun evening gossiping away to glory over a hot cup of coffee and dishfull of hot pakoras on the cold rainy day then watched some latest Hindi movie while I slept peacefully and dada was busy colouring in his book.
It is a sunny afternoon today and I have just come back from a walk ..and am soo sleepy.. so more later...zzzzzzz

Rather eventful happenings

Well, I turned 1 month old last week on the 19th Oct. They say time flies when u are havin fun..and I believe in it. It was rather fun with Nana, Nani here. After spending a joyful 1 month with us,they left on the 23rd and I was pretty sad. Felt lonely with no one to pick me up when I was bored. Dada also missed them since he had noone to play with him the whole day..More than us it was mamma who felt sad.. She missed Nani Nani the most. Papa tried to make her smile and to cheer her up we went to the swimming pool. It was the first time I saw a pool, It was big.. I hadnt seen so much water before.. Kids were swimming and dada was one of them. The next day we went for a Diwali party to one Nidhi Aunty's place. I wore the stylish short denim skirt and a red Benetton top to go with it and looked so chic.. We clicked a few picture with dada holding me.. Dada was so excited since he wanted to hold me for a long time but pappa mamma were a bit scared since I was too little..
At Nidhi Aunty's place there were 6 boys.. all of dada's age.. and I was the only girl present. Felt soo special with all the attention.. Everyone was soo excited to see me.. Dada's friend Aayush wanted to hold me and we clicked a picture with him too.
Then they all lit some glowing thing....later I was told by mamma that it was a 'phuljhadi'.. since it was a few days before Diwali.. Oh!! it looked soo beautiful and dada enjoyed lighting it.
Today we will do puja and will light the phuljhadi once again since it is Diwali today. My first ever Diwali. Yehh..!! Then Meenu Aunty will come and pick us up to spend the evening with her at her new home.
But I will miss papa a lot today. He is away for 10 days to China on work. Hope he remembers to bring me and dada a present.. He is terribly missing us too.
Autumn colours are finally getting over and winter is bringing with it cold winds. I feel really cosy dressed up all warm in the winter overalls ..and then clinging onto the sling on mamma like a little monkey . Oh!! that reminds me now I must get dressed up in my overall to pick up Dada from School.
More later...Have a happy Diwali

I am now 3 weeks old..

Last week was rather eventful,.. MY DEAR NANA arrived from India to be with us. I was so happy. He bought with him so many gifts for me. So many wonderful clothes, so many pretty sweaters and of course some accessories in gold which I will wear when I get a bit older.
We play together everday as I loved his soft playful voice. He had named me 'Chinni' even before I was born. :-) So as mamma calls me Chinkey, Chinku, Chinki.. Chinni is another name added to the list.. Then we celebrated Ashtami. Nani made Halwa Pudi and Chane and we did puja together.
Then we celebrated Dushera, I put tilak on dada's forehead as per customs that baba dadi beleive in.

When I turned 20 days old Nani insisted on taking me to the Iskcon temple here in Stockholm. So yesterday we went thereand attented the aarti in the evening. The gods looked beautiful indeed and I loved looking at the lights up in the roof..

Mamma, Papa's friends insist on seeing me and mamma is finding a suitable time to invite them. Everyone is so eager to see me and hearing this I feel really important.
Dada pats me on my head and sometimes touches my cheeks because he thinks they are soo soft. ' Toft' he calls them in his langauge. I have begun to recognise Nani's voice as well as she coos and talks to me everyday when she does my massage and bathes me.. She is a pro I must say in massaging newborns. Dada too was massaged and bathed by her when he was born. Mamma is still just a helper by Nani learning everyday and preparing herself to do so once Nani and Nana leave back for India. Every evening I love being in Nani's 'badi godi'..

Papa plays with me every morning before leaving for work, and the first thing as soon as he comes back from work.He is a little dissappointed though as I am soo sleepy sometimes.

Alrite now I am going to get ready as and a little while we will go the Hindu temple here to witness the 'Rawan Dahen'. With that another exiting weekend will come to an end as a new week begins tomorrow

My first step outdoors

Yesterday was my first outing. Well, I call it an 'outing' even though it was a walk to my BVC for my first checkup . We walked all the way to the place. I enjoyed being in the pram , was looking at all the green little things up there, with the blue background. Wondered what it was. but it all looked so beautiful to my eyes. After we had my checkup mamma took me to the mall for a small walk. Initially I liked it, it felt different. There were soo many people around. Some looked at me and smiled. One guy standing on the counter of a shop to buy something asked mamma how old I was and then said I looked soo cute :-) I simply exchanged a small glance with him and gave him half a smile while he looked on.

Then while mamma enjoyed her first outing ever since she gave birth to me.. I had had enough. I wanted to go and lay in my crib and have a feed. I let it be known with my squirms and restlessness. While we were finally walking home, I really lost all my little patience that I have and let it be known with my screams. Mamma along with Dada and Nani who were acompanying us started to walk even faster, Then Dada had a tummy ache, and a foot ache, while my screams started getting louder and louder.... I pitied poor mamma ....she was begining to panic. Nani kept her cool and pushed my pram while mamma clutched on me tightly close to her heart. Dada was getting cranky as well, and we all heaved a sigh of relief when we finally reached home in the next 5 minutes.
Finally I was in my crib, dada had papa to talk too about his aches and Nani had dinner ready for all of us.
All in all my first outing went well, I had a small nap in my pram , loved the rocking feeling while the pram moved, saw some great colours all around me while poor mamma learnt a lesson ' avoid going anywhere all by herself with dada and me, unless absolutely necesarry' :-):-) . Papa promised to accompany us as much as he could until I grew a little older :-):-)

Today I am 10 days old.. We celebrated my ' Dashtone'

Ah.!! Time flies, and I am 10 days old today. We celebrated this day today. Nani dearest got up early and started to make goodies and yummy food. She made dahi Bhalle, Kachori, puris, Kadhi, Sabzi and kheer. I wore the new dress my Nana bought for me .. I must say I looked quite chic :-) .
Papa then read the sataynarayan katha while all of us listened. Then we gorged on the yummy food.!! Also now I have a name .. ' Aryaa'... although mamma calls me ' Chinki'..' Chinni'..'Minki'.. I just gaze at her adoringly whenever she coos out one of these names.
I now am getting a little more aware of my surroundings. I realise when I am bored all alone and when I have mamma near me.
Also I have started to form opinions.. like for one I think bathing time is good only after it is over :-) Then I love laying wrapped up in my cosy towel and near the heater ( we call 'garma') . Although I am nervous everyday about bathing and let this fact be known through my screams and cries.. I am getting used to it.

Today is princess's 'chatti'

Today I am 6 days old.. and I guess now I should be writing for my own self. so here I go...We have come back home from the hospital now and are working towards finding a new routine.. . Mamma keeps cooing and talking to me and I have somehow started to recognise it from my days in her tummy. My dear nani who has travelled all the way from India to be there for my birth is equally estatic at my arrival and works really hard all day to make sure I and mamma are doing well. Papa is home from work to be there and play with me.
he is also busy these days to find a good name for me.that is what keeps him busy

My dearest elder brother Arjun who is 'dada' to me is also doing his best in acting out his newly found title of the 'big helpful, protective brother'.. Dada runs around trying to help mamma in whatever she needs, he helps her change my daipers, and throws the dirty diapers in the trash can.. He also runs to my crib gleefully every morming when he gets up and every evening when papa brings him back from school.

The phone keeps ringing the whole day with greetings from mamma and papa's friends, and all the relatives to congratulate and wish them..and also curious to now how I am doing..

All in all.. I am enjoying and basking in all the attention I am getting from everyone around me..

The arrival of our little princess- 19th sept 2008

After 9 months of an anxious wait finally came the day when our little princess deceided to choose a bright sunny autumn morning, the 19th Sept 2008 , to make a grand entry into our little world. She knew that 9 months was a wait long enough and her mom was really eager to have her in the world, so she didnt take too much time to squeeze her way out of my tummy. To everyone's surprise which included the docters and the nurses, within 1 hr of reaching the hospital and I had her in my arms.

It has been 4 yrs since I had my little Arjun but the feeling of holding my little baby in my arms still felt the same as it felt when I had Arjun. The feeling of awe and happiness, filled my senses as Amit and me both felt so proud of having created this beautiful living being together that lay in our arms with a calm and a serene look on her face, sucking on to her little fingers, feeling so safe and secure wrapped up in a small towel and close to my heart with her proud dad holding both of us together in his strong arms

It has ben 4 days since we have been blessed with our bundle of joy, sometimes it seems to me that my memory has faded, I am a second time mom today, but I still wonder about my princess's gossamer notes of laughter and twilight smiles in the veil between dreaming and wakefulness. Or her vocal symphony ranging from dove-like coos to banshee screams. What do they mean.. ?
